Making Art in a Changing World: Capture the Possible

Art and artists can be powerful agents of change: catalysts for the positive and the possible. Artists are problem-solvers, communicators, educators, and visionaries who shift our perspectives and thus shape society. In such a rapidly changing world, art can bring communities together and create new connections -- no mean feat in a time of heated debate and polarization.

Submit artwork that addresses the change you want to see. For our next exhibition, Art in a Changing World: Capture the Possible, share with us work that raises awareness and embraces a better future. Show us work that addresses issues of climate change, inequality, social and economic justice, among many other urgent questions even as it broadens the scope of what’s possible. Where do you find beauty, meaning, and the mystical? How can artwork speak to human potential, resilience, and nature’s adaptability? How does your art proffer hope, optimism, and wonder?

As we collectively imagine a brighter future, help us view our world with fresh eyes. Our theme is deliberately broad and includes invitations for an array of media: paintings, drawings, mixed media, and fiber (sculpture and photography excluded). Artist statements matter and submissions will be juried on mastery of technique and originality. This exhibition will serve as a curated-artist-dialogue, with artworks that shine a light on tired modes of thinking and embrace experimentation. Thanks for allowing us to consider your interpretations that usher us into the future to capture the possible.
