Capturing the contemplative, peaceful moment of “one’s self and nature” in my painting “Dreaming” brings humanity and selflessness to the forefront. My daughter and her dog “Rosie” contemplate their surroundings……much to be said about being in the present with nature.

As an award winning artist and teacher, I am drawn to capturing the spontaneity before me, and the beauty of the human form. As an instructor of life painting, my goal is to get my students “to see”: it is in the art of acute observation that one can learn to recognize proportions, color, value, line, texture, and nuances of light upon the subject. It’s exciting and rewarding to see my students progress with this knowledge.
