ARTIST STATMENT
The artists paints juxtaposing fields of color, shape, and line, pieced, layered and manipulated intentionally and accidentally. Emotions and memories drive the introduction and subtraction of color, shape, and line.
The color and sensibilities are informed by the artists's memories of lush Southern California orange groves of her childhood, and later by the Central Valley's abundant farms, fields, orchards, and expansive cerulean skies. Like Marin's push to retain open space, the artist is involved with an organization that works to save and protect Central Valley's beautiful lands for farming and food production.
